SASHIKO PATTERNS

SASHIKO PATTERNS
Elegant in its simplicity, timeless in its appeal, white on blue sashiko has been practiced since Japan's Edo period. Originating as a means of mending and reinforcing peasant garments, it evolved into decorative designs which were adopted by the middle and upper classes.

Although they look complex, sashiko stitching designs are quick, easy, and inexpensive to complete.
